The EPL season is starting and the Red Devils will be entertaining the Magpies at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex had not made any major additions so far, although there are reports that Fergie is trying to get another striker to bolster the frontline. Rooney seems to be ok after catching a virus in Africa although Ronaldo is still out with injury. United will almost be at full force, although the front end needs a bit of a sharpening. Tevez is very hardworking, but he’s not the prolific goal scorer in the likes of Van Nistelrooy, Yorke or recently Ronaldo. I think there will be lots of chances, only to see if Tevez and Co can actually produce the finishing deemed necessary to win the game.

Newcaslte got quite busy during the off season notably the acquisition of Coloccini and Gutierrez. Coloccini is a favourite of mine in the Championship Manager and Football Manager series. Gutierrez meanwhile is an Argentine international who would know a bit about Tevez.

We’ll see who’ll come out tops. Seeing the squad and recent history head-to-head, I’d say it’ll be a United win 2-0.
